Pregnancy Sessions: Pregnancy sessions are most effective between 32 - 38 weeks. At this time your shape is well rounded. We suggest you bring along 2-3 outfits so we can capture a variety of styles or you may decide to personalise your look with options of fabric wraps and scarves to wrap around your body capturing a beautiful natural look. You may decide to include your partner and other children which makes this time very special for your family. Bookings should be made earlier in your pregnancy as our schedule fills up quite quickly and it would be a shame to miss this precious time! Newborn Sessions: Please see our Newborn section for detailed information. Combo Sessions: Pregnancy and Newborn Combo sessions are perfect to capture the full story of this wonderful time, they are completed over two separate sessions. You will then be able to select from one of our popular package collections to showcase your gorgeous bump and new bundle. You may decide to create a stunning keepsake Album or Portfolio. Your Pregnancy session will take place between weeks 32-38 and Newborn session between 1-4 weeks of age. Children and Family Sessions: On arrival at your agreed location children will be made to feel comfortable and relaxed to help bring out their true personalities. We like to begin by allowing the children time to feel relaxed around us. Throughout the shoot we encourage parents to be involved by make faces, being silly and assisting the children in relaxing and laughing. A 'happy family' on the day is important as we hope to capture the children happy at play and capture your family when they are at their best. Studio Sessions: The studio is a fantastic creative space for achieving artistic images. Professional lighting and different coloured backdrops are used to create different styles and effects. During the winter months the studio is a great environment for when we can't really rely on the weather and lighting conditions outside. A bathroom is available for any last minute make- up adjustments. Please make sure to bring everything needed for the session to run smoothly. You are welcome to bring along a change of clothes, any favorite toys or any items that are special to your family. Location Sessions: Locations for your portrait session may include beautiful gardens, a local park or the beach. We aim to shoot using as much natural light as possible. We will photograph in different areas within your location to capture variations of your unique style. Photographs captured on location portray a relaxed, fun and personal snapshot of your family interacting with each other. Location sessions allow children to roam, explore and just be themselves. We'll ask for your input and give you the opportunity to involve yourself in the photographic process. Sessions last approx 1 hour. Viewing and Ordering your Images: The viewing of your images takes place approx one week after your portrait session. You will be able to sit back, relax and view the whole collection. We will assist you in deciding on your favorite images, then you will be able to select from our many different presentation options including framed wall portraits and album presentations. We will present the many options in relation to the size, retouching and finishes. Delivery of your Portraits: We take pride in creating classic, timeless portraits that you'll admire for years to come. Presenting you with your portraits is an exciting time for us as it provides us with great enjoyment to exceed your expectations. Q: How do I book a Portrait Session? Call us on 9317 9413 or email info@maplegallery.com.au and we will arrange your booking. Q: Where are you located and what areas do you service? We are located in Maribyrnong and service the Melbourne Metro Area. Q: Do you charge extra for travel? The portrait session fee covers the Melbourne Metro area, If we need to travel outside of this area for location sessions a travel fee will be charged. Q: How many people can be included in the session? 6 people is our maximum no of people included in one session. Additional family members are $25 pp. If you are thinking of having a large extended family group please contact us to discuss as we may require a longer session. Q: Do you offer Hair and Makeovers? No we do not offer a hair or makeover service, as we prefer to photograph you as naturally as possible so that we can capture your real personality. We will provide you with helpful information to prepare for your Session and will recommend what will look best so you get the most out of your portrait experience. If you would like to organise your own professional make-up, we can refer you to a professional make-up artist. Q: What should I wear and what should I bring? Depending on your style and the location of your portrait session, clothing and accessories will vary. Upon booking you will receive detailed information in your preparation pack about what to wear and bring along to your portrait session. Q: What happens if the weather is no good? For location sessions we like to wait until the morning of the session to make any cancellation decisions, as sometimes the weather may improve as clouds break up. In the case of wet weather we will call you as soon as possible and a new time will be rescheduled. Q: What happens if I need to re-schedule? If you need to reschedule due to your child falling sick on the day, please call us ASAP and a new time will be rescheduled. In the unfortunate event the photographer is sick, we will call you immediately and find a time to reschedule. Please note as we work with many bookings we can only accept 2 re-schedules per client per session fee that is paid. We suggest you only re-schedule your session should it be totally unavoidable. Q: How long does the session take? Most sessions take between 1-1.5 hours, although if more time is required on the day we will extend your session time accordingly. Newborn sessions can sometimes take 2-3 hours. Q: Can I select Colour and Black and White? When ordering your portraits you have the choice of either Colour, Black and White or Sepia. We will assist you in deciding on what looks best for your images. Q: Can I get the images on CD? Our portrait product range has been designed for your portraits to be displayed in your home as finished presentations where you will receive everyday enjoyment from your images. Some of our products come with a complimentary DVD Sideshow but please note we do not sell our images on CD. Where will a CD be in 20 years from now? For more information on any products in our range please contact us. Q: Do you retouch the images? Yes, all retouching and design consultation is included. All images are carefully retouched by removing blemishes and softening facial lines before printing. We respect that people have unique markings such as birthmarks etc. and prefer to leave these in our photographs to display an accurate representation of who you are. Please let us know if you have any specific requests such as removing or toning down moles or scars, or if you prefer no retouching at all. Q: How long does it take to get my portraits? Our goal is to provide you with the finest quality possible and to do this takes time Please allow approximately 4 - 6 weeks for completion of your order. Q: Can I purchase a gift voucher? Q: Can we get a CD of the images? Yes, our wedding packages include a DVD with high resolution digital files which are suitable for printing. Q: Are you digital? Yes, we are a fully digital studio. All digital files are kept on our system and in backup indefinitely. Q: Who will be the photographer we get on the day? Brad is our principal photographer and is always the photographer you will get on the day. A second photographer will be used on most occasions. Q: How many photographers will there be? On most occasions we have 2 photographers, 1 principal photographer and a second. There are many times throughout the day when we want to capture the action from two different angles. The two photographers work as a team which allows us to capture the best moments of your day without missing any special details. Q: Can my family and friends order prints? Yes, they are most welcome to place an order with us for any additional prints. They can email us their order using the image reference numbers from your DVD.
